Shun Kanso 6″ Utility Knife

The Shun Kanso 6″ Utility Knife brings a newer, simpler design for a knife that is perfect for many small tasks that require precise cuts. It’s versatile enough to peel an onion in-hand, and then slice it on a board. The very nimble 6″ Utility is between a chef’s knife and a paring knife – featuring a narrow, straight blade with a slightly curved belly ideal for moderate rocking cuts. Sometimes called a sandwich knife, the utility knife works well on virtually everything between the bread of a sandwich – from thin-skinned vegetables to meats and cheeses.

The Kanso line of Shun knives was designed based on Zen philosophy, and its name means “simplicity.” Shun took only the most essential elements of a knife – high-performance steel, razor-sharp edge, perfect balance and precision cutting control – and created a simple line of knives that provides simply perfect performance. The Tagayasan hard wood handle is contoured for the chef’s grip and precision cutting. Tagayasan, known as “iron sword wood,” was traditionally used in crafting Samurai sword handles. This wood is naturally dense, durable and beautiful.
